What a fab game between the Wallabies and the Springboks last Saturday! I haven't been able to comment on it prior to now as I was off the air - cable connections don't work too well when the cable has been cut. Anyway, kudos to bigpond who came the very day after I phoned them and to the tech who spent considerable time digging, tunnelling, and replacing to get me back up and running again. Thanks!!
I thoroughly enjoyed the game Saturday night - it's so good to see that the Boks are back! The game was anybody's right up until the end when former RAS under 21 captain Clyde Rathbone clinched it for Australia with a try in the corner. He certainly looked pleased, as did George Gregan who was celebrating his 100th test game. Congratulations!
I thought Stephen Larkham, who was named man of the match, had a top game running through the gaps on numerous occasions. Matt Giteau gets more impressive with every game, and Chris Latham looks so at home at fullback :)
But that was last week, this week the Wallabies face the All Blacks in Sydney. Wish I was going to be there!! The kiwis have announced their team, and as per usual it's a big line up of stars. Mehrts has been recalled to the reserves bench, Ali Williams replaces injured Keith Robinson, while Hayman and Gibbes are also back.
Eddie Jones will announce the Australian team at any tick of the clock - I'll keep you posted.
