Yep well... so much for my tipping. The Highlanders down by one point to the Sharks last night. Argh!! Leading 32-15 with 20 minutes left on the clock they blew it - 36-35 the final score.

I think I should change my Blues/Reds tip. Julian Huxley, just back from a broken jaw hurt himself in training yesterday - lateral ligament damage to one of his knees - so he's out for a while before even getting back in. Get better Julian Huxley!

Righto - I'm off - got some future wallabies to coach :)

Alrighty - My tips for this week's Super 12. Let's see if I can do a bit better THIS week.

Tonight in Dunedin. I'm going for the Highlanders over the Sharks - pretty hard to beat the Otago boys at home.

Tomorrow:
Hurricanes over the Cats in Wellington
Reds over the Blues in Brisbane. Yep - BIG call.. probably a very stupid call...

Sunday: Our Australian power house teams are playing in SA.

Brumbies over the Bulls
Waratahs over the Stormers

There you go :) Enjoy your weekend of rugby!

geeeeeezzzz.. gotta get my Super 12 tips for this weekend organised.. I'll post soon - time to grab some zzzzzz's.. but er um.. don't wait for mine to get yours in... :)

No Super 12 news to report today - though I confess I was trying to find out the Canterbury Bulldogs big 3 yesterday .. but that's league and I refuse to dwell on the Sunday times thing in NZ.. (cause I couldn't find out what I wanted to know :)

Instead I spent the day today at District Trials... what a classy act the boys were/are! 'Chosen ones' or not at the end of the day, they did themselves, their parents, their mentors, and the game PROUD - throughout the entire day. Can't ask much more than that......

Couple of tidbits....

Carlos Spencer broke his jaw in the game last Saturday against the Chiefs after Deacon Manu tackled him. A huge blow for the Blues! Manu has since been found guilty of foul play and suspended for two weeks.

Mat Rogers continues to recover from his ankle injury sustained in the Tahs win over the Cats. Shaun Berne has been training with the Waratahs in Cape Town to replace Rogers should his ankle rule him out of this week's game.

The Reds have added Digby Ioane to their squad for this week's clash against the Blues at Ballymore. Ioane is just 18 years old but has played on the wing for the Australian School boys and currently is part of the Reds Rugby College. Big future for this boy!

And rumblings that over in the land of the World Cup holders all is not as happy as it appears from the outside. Are the loyal servants displeased? Time will tell!!

Later!

It would be remiss of me not to mention something about the Six Nations...

England 13 - Ireland 19 at Twickenham!!!

Yes, you did read that correctly....

>England 13 - Ireland 19 at Twickenham!!! Oh dear, poor King Clive might be crying tears in his guiness after his mob suffered their first defeat in nearly five years at home. Good one Ireland!!

Italy also got up over Scotland 20-14

Later!

Maybe the planet's biorhythmns have been out of whack for the last week or so - things have been quite out of the ordinary from the climate to daily events. The weekend's rugby games were unusual as well.

The Brumbies only just managed to scrape in a win over the Sharks 23-20 in Canberra when Joe Roff booted a penalty goal after the full time siren had gone off. No bonus points for the Brumbies this week - only scoring two tries.

In Brisbane last night the Reds went down to the Crusaders 20-17. No doubt Elton Flatley will be kicking himself this morning for dropping the ball in the last play of the game. Doh! To rub salt into the wound Chris Latham did his hamstring, and Wendell Sailor has an injured shoulder.

My tipping proved to be pathetic once again when the Hurricanes beat the Stormers 25-19 in Cape Town. How did that happen? The Stormers failed to capitalise on scoring opportunities through poor ball handling skills. Back to training boys!!
