The Reds have announced their team to take on the Brumbies this Saturday. You can find the line-up here on the ARU site. As anticipated, Ben Tune will take the field from the kick off at outside centre. Julian Huxley will also be playing, but Elton Flatley is still out injured as is John Roe, Caleb Brown and Brock James. Wendell Sailor, Nick Stiles, and Sean Hardman are all being rested.

The Brumbies have also announced their squad for the game which you can also find on the ARU site here. In all they have 8 players on debut for the Brumbies, but there's some talent there in those newbies including the Australian schoolboys co-captains Julian Salvi and Tatafu Polota-Nau.

Owen 'Melons' Finigan will captain the Brumbies in the game as Stirling Mortlock won't be playing.
I love both of these teams, and it's quite an interesting mix of players to take field for both sides. Time to dust off the cobwebs and give themselves a run. A trial game is a good opportunity to get the new players on the paddock as well.

Go Reds! See, while I love the Brumbies, I am a Queenslander!!

Good morning!

I just had a quick check of my site stats, and noticed that there's more than a few people searching for Super 12 tickets.

Australian team tickets:
Tickets for Reds games can be purchased from Ticketmaster7
Waratahs and Brumbies game tickets from Ticketek

New Zealand team tickets:
Best off to check out the ticket page on the Highlanders web site - it gives phone numbers etc
Hurricanes tickets go on sale Feb 15 and you can purchase them from redtickets.co.nz - further match/venue details are available on the Hurricanes web site.
Cruaders fans can grab their match tickets from Feb 1 at Ticketek (NZ I presume)
Chiefs supporters can head over to SportTix
Auckland Blues fans head over to the Blues web site - the site's down at the mo'

South Africa team tickets:
er... Sharks fans, according to your team's website: Absa Stadium, Durban Ticket Office, Walter Gilbert Road. I trust that makes sense to you!
um... Stormers supporters - you'll have to keep an eye on the Stormers ticketing page - they're bringing in a new ticketing system and details are as yet to come.
huh?... Bulls followers - you'll have to check out their web site as well. There's a link for season tickets on there, but I can't find where you can purchase individual match tickets.
Geez... I'm REALLY not having any luck with the SA team sites... Cats fans, there's all manner of 'issues' on the Cats site as I type... I notice it's a windoze server - grrrrr. Anyway, here's the link to the Cats site. You're on your own I'm afraid!

This has been a public service announcement.. hehe... Later!

Just took a peek over at centrebet.com to see what teams are on what odds for taking out the Super 12 title this year. You can bet on teams to make the semi-finals and/or be the winners.

Not surprisingly the Brumbies, Blues, Crusaders, and Waratahs (in that order) are the current favourites to make the semis, but they're all under $2. The Brumbies are sitting on a meagre $1.30 and since I'm a prize pig I think I'd rather have a bet on the team to take out the title.

The Brumbies are paying $3.50 for the win, the Blues $3.75, the Crusaders $4.00 and the Waratahs on $8.00

The Queensland Reds are sitting on $34.00 - apparently there's not as many other people as tragically optimistic about their chances as yours truly, however, I think I'll head back over to Centrebet later and plonk a $20 on the nose for the Reds. I'm tempted to have a bet on the Cats $251.00 but ... sheesh... still a fiver might be fun!

Anyway, if you're planning on putting your money where your mouth is when it comes to Super 12 tipping this year, you have until 25th Feb 2005 17.35pm to get your bet on at centrebet :)

Cheers!

Good morning :)

I'm hearing rumours of a north vs south rugby game in June to raise funds for the Tsunami victims. How good would that be? Hopefully it'll happen, and hopefully it'll be in Sydney. I can almost feel the urge to start plotting how I'm going to be at the game!

Seems the Boks have got some racial issues to get sorted out if they want financial backing from their government for their 2011 world cup campaign. Let's hope they get that straightened out asap, even whispers of such things are unpleasant. I was rapt to see the Boks playing so much better last year :)

Great to see Julian Huxley back in the Reds lineup for Super 12 2004. This guy is brilliant, but he certainly had a run of bad luck injury wise last year, breaking his jaw in a game against the Blues in February last year.

Also, keep an eye on optusnet for their Super 12 tipping competition - it's not open as yet but you can enter your email address so they can let you know once they are up and running for registration. They also have AFL and League tipping comps as well. You don't have to be an optusnet subscriber to play, but if you are you get extra prizes - if you win any at all.

Cheers!
