National Scrum School....
This time it's Tom Lawton, a great ex-hooker for the Wallabies who has thrown his two cents into the ring by calling for a national scrummaging school in Australia. Yes, I think we ALL agree that the Wallaby front row needs some drastic improvement and quick smart. A school could be formed and up and operational over the off season. There's got to be a swag of money in the ARU coffers.... let's hope they cough some up! At least the forwards went reasonably in the line out against Wales - largely thanks to locks Nathan Sharpe and Hugh McMenimen. The Wallabies need to contest the scrum, not just simply use it as a restart.
Some low life apparently stole Colin Charvis and Martyn Williams' jerseys after the Wales win over Australia. Charvis had swapped jerseys with Phil Waugh - so it's gone, and Williams' black jersey that was the Welsh strip for the game has also disappeared. I hope they get them back - they should probably look on ebay!
Jason Eaton, the new lock for the ABs is back from the European tour, and he's ready to get into training for his Super 14 season. Eaton acknowledges he's likely to be a marked man.
Meanwhile, the Western Force continue to get out and about around Western Australia conducting junior rugby clinics and the like. Good PR for the team, and the game!
