Round 7 Super 14 Rugby tips 2009

Last weekend was a DISASTER for Australian rugby fans! Needless to say, my biased tipping did me no favours. Argh! I hope I can do a bit better this week.

FRIDAY: Blues vs Waratahs at Eden Park - 5:35pm
I know that the Blues got walloped last weekend by the Chiefs but I think that they'll probably want to rectify that this weekend. I'm tipping the Blues by 5

SATURDAY: Highlanders vs Bulls at Carisbrook - 3:30pm kickoff
Well the Bulls are unbeaten, and they haven't had far too travel after last weekend, so I'm going to tip them to beat the Highlanders, but I hope the Highlanders give them a good rattle.

Crusaders vs Stormers at Jade Stadium - 5:35pm
The Crusaders haven't been going their usual thunderous best, but they're back home again this weekend against the Stormers who had a bye last weekend, and who have injuries. I can't write the Crusaders off, not at home. I think it could be close though so I'm only tipping them by 2.

Reds vs Chiefs at Suncorp Stadium - 8:05pm
Right! I suppose I should tip the Chiefs, but I am not going to. The Reds will be keen to win this game, and at Suncorp anything can happen - as we saw in their last home game. I'm tipping the Reds by 1

SUNDAY: Sharks vs Brumbies at ABSA Stadium - 2:00am
A kickoff time for diehard fans here in Australia. The Brumbies were miserable last weekend, and the Sharks are second on the table. Common sense would say that I should tip the Sharks, but I'm going to throw caution to the wind and tip the Brumbies in a close one.

Lions vs Hurricanes at Coca-Cola Park Stadium - 4:10am
Ouch that's early, but we'll be watching :-) I'm going to tip the Canes.
